FRISCO DISCO EVENTS produces gay dance events in San Francisco that are celebrations of all the wonderfully silly, fun and happily twisted things that make us all gay. We create events that take you on a joyride of light and sound; a musical journey throughout the night. We try, in our own way, to help bring our community together. Our continued and growing success is based on a year round dedication and countless hours of hard work from a small group of incredibly talented people. HISTORY
FRISCO DISCO’S namesake is a 1970’s gay nightclub in New York City called the Crisco Disco. A club with an infamous reputation for outrageous, irreverent fun, great DJs and a crowd of sexy gay men and all those who love them.
The DISCO is forever dedicated to the loving memory of our very good friend and The DISCO's first DJ for whom the event was originally created, DJ Cary Stringfellow. In Love and Light; "Until The End of Time."
BIO'S OF THE PRODUCERS
BILLY WORTHEN
Billy caught the event production bug way back in 1985, creating a Christmas in July party in his back yard for 150 of his closest high school friends, a party that still gets talked about. This early foundation and reputation for creating off the wall, fun events continued through college, running his college’s senior week and countless fraternity events. This set the stage for his move to San Francisco, giving him the necessary skills for his seven years of service on the Folsom Street Events board of directors, producing Folsom Street Fair, Up Your Alley, and where he proudly produced
Folsom’s flagship dance party, Magnitude until stepping off the Folsom Board in 2007. Billy has lived in San Francisco for the last 10 years.
KYLE PICKETT
Originally from the Yakima Valley in Central Washington, Kyle is co-founder, co-producer, and events manager for FRISCO DISCO EVENTS. Kyle draws upon his strong background in Organizational Development, logistics, and “Cruise Director” experience to ensure that no detail is overlooked. “Whoever said, ‘the rest is just details’ never produced a party!”
TOGETHER
Together, Billy Worthen and Kyle Pickett, are partners in life and co-creators of FRISCO DISCO EVENTS, bringing members of the our great, and wonderfully diverse San Francisco LGBT community together for fun, friendship, Pride and killer dance parties.
FRISCO DISCO EVENTS are known throughout our community for irreverent fun and it’s “only in San Francisco” unconventional events.
